And speaking from experience, I think it is easier to manage the physical scars from battle far easier than any mental or emotional scars. The cuts that reach into your soul and alter your perception are the ones that make or break you as a human in God’s Image.

But you know, it isn’t just the preparedness for a physical fight that parents are not equipping kids for handling when they are sent to school. Especially since one of the most egregious acts of evil a person can do to someone is corrupt their moral compass, or remove it all together.

I know a lot of parents who raise their kids with good moral values, who send them to school, and teachers and other students bully those children out of those beliefs.

And too many parents say, “they will grow out of that stage” when a monster comes home for a visit. Speaking as someone who took longer than I should have growing past that kind of damage, let me tell you I hold my parents more accountable than the kids and teachers.

Were it not for a direct confrontation with God, on my own road to Damascus like another guy in the bible, I would still be on the wrong road and be suffering from the belief of “this is how the world works” because “everyone told me so.”

Even though I knew in my heart, “This is what God says, because the bible said so.” The world was winning because I really did not know what the bible said at all to even call myself a white belt at defending myself against the world through the Word.

I was exploited for believing I should turn the cheek, that I should forgive, that I should walk away. I had no idea the difference between meekness and cowardice because what I knew was I should always take the high road and be the bigger man. And I did all those things with no care to how I was letting people make themselves into monsters around me, that I easily could have stopped if I had actually applied the teachings of the Bible through Christ, the way He intends.

What is better, teaching the right morals to defend in a fight……. Or just teaching how to defend in a fight without morals? And then……..what are the Right morals?
